After an idyllic summer spent playing on beaches and under the stars the Retrospective camp return with Back top the 80’s Vol.1, the first official release from rising star of the edit-scene, and Warrington’s finest, 80′s Child aka Danny Worrall.
Raised by his parents on a strict diet of Toto, Prince, Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Michael Jackson and the like, Danny returned to those formative sounds having lost interest in the mainstream house sound in the early ‘00s.
Inspired by the productions of fellow dusty fingered archivists such as Greg Wilson, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Get Down Edits, Tiger & Woods, 78 Edits and of course Retrospective’s own Ruben & Ra, Danny’s edits have grown wilder as he’s experimented, extended and completely re-worked into some of the hottest club edits around over the past 12 months.
Having established himself on the nu-disco & edit scene, and supplied one of the standout tracks for Yam Who?’s recent Midnight Riot album, Retrospective are proud to release his first official solo release, the 4 track Back top the 80’s Vol.1 EP, a record that, as the name suggests, displays an unmistakable love for that decades brand of disco and boogie.
To be released on 12” vinyl and as two digital singles, Danny takes 4 original boogie joints and delivers them the definitive 80’s Child work-over, giving a new lease of life to both some much loved classics and some hard to find gems.
